The Exotic Animal Black Market

Do you know how most of these animals come to the U.S.?  Many come here illegally, through the Exotic Animal Black Market.  So many die on the journey, it's horrible.  There is an estimate that every 1 animal that makes it and becomes a pet, 5-10 others die (depending on the species).  

When they get here, they're sold in auctions, over the internet, in selective (and often sketchy) pet stores, and in roadside menageries.
